Fuwai Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS)

Founded in 1956, Fuwai Hospital which belongs to the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (referred as "Fuwai Hospital") is a national triple A, first-class hospital specializing in cardiovascular diseases. It is also the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, State Key Laboratory of Cardiovascular Disease, and National Clinical Research Center of Cardiovascular Diseases. It is well known internationally for treatment of all kinds of complex, difficult, and severe cardiovascular diseases, and has become the world's biggest cardiovascular center, as well as a national center for clinical healthcare, medical research, disease prevention and education.

Through 60 years of development, Fuwai Hospital hasestablished its three national professional status in the cardiovascular fieldand its building of cardiovascular center has begun to take shape. In particular,it has reached a new level in the “Fuwai property” accumulation during the “12th Five YearPlan.” Over the next 60 years, it will create greater glories through thethorough implementation of the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of the 18th CentralCommittee, sticking to its position as a “national team” in health care reformand medical researchers. It will continue the “quality and innovative”development approach by strengthening the coordination and development ofdisciplines relating to cardiovascular diseases, developing the model ofintegrated comprehensive medical care and prevention, taking full advantage of“big data,” and exploring medical service models under the “Internet+” model.It aims to develop innovative mechanisms and systems and establish national(national-level) incubators for new technologies, national (national-level)digital medical centers for cardiovascular diseases, national (national-level)centers for cardiovascular interventions and rehabilitation (a chronic disease caredemonstration base) and other research translation platforms to makebreakthroughs in key subjects and to improve the hospital’s output ofscientific research and technological competitiveness. It is committed incontrolling the morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular diseases by settingup a “network of prevention and control,” and in training more excellentprofessionals for the country based on the “Broader View of Talents.” Thepredecessors of Fuwai Hospital have been dedicated to medicine, laying a solidfoundation, and setting a good example.
